Starting the summer of 2009, ECDL ROMANIA launched the „Click on Green!” campaign which takes place at a national level. In the present situation, when all the children spend most of their spare time in front of the computer, the campaign aims to make the children more responsible and to involve them in ecological activities.

The campaign started with a web pages competition on the theme „GreenSchool” opened for all the children, offering to each one of them the opportunity to develop a personal responsible attitude towards the environment. The ECDL initiative wants to make all the stundents understand the role of technology and the computer, being a source for information and communication and a mobile to change mentalities in good.

The „GreenSchool” competition took place with success between 1st of June and 31st of August 2009. The children proved to be very creative and also very rational in their projects, expressing the respect for the natural environment. We were very glad to find out that the children understand the fact that any of their action in relation with the environment in which they live and learn is very significant.

Through „Click on Green!” Campaign, ECDL ROMANIA aims to develop the ecological culture which is very low at the present, by addressing the children directly. The young are the most opened about mentality changes in environment attitude and they are the proper target for starting a positive one from now one.
