The summer campaign “Click on green” took place at a national level between the 1st of June and the 31st of August 2009. The campaign was launched by ECDL ROMANIA, whose aim is for students, who are only used to working in front of the computer, to become responsible and to get involved in eco-actions. It gives everyone the chanceto express a personal and responsible attitude towards the environment and at the same time to understand better the role that technology and computers play in providing information and in communicating in order to improve mentalities.
The “Click on green” campaign took place at a national level during the summer 2009, between the 1st of June and the 31st of August, and it was aimed at students in schools and high schools who have knowledge of website creating. The theme of the contest was “The Green School”, expressing our concern for the environment in which we live and where the following generations will live as well. Children should gradually understand that any action they take is important for the environment in which they live and learn.
Through its campaign, ECDL ROMANIA aims at developing the so far poor ecological culture by turning to children, who are most open to change their view and attitude towards the environment.
Children were invited to join the competition between the 1st of June and the 31st of August 2009 by sending their contact data and the link of the website they have created at marketing@ecdl.org.ro, having the opportunity to win attractive prizes.
Any school or high school student in the country could take part in the competition, regardless his/her sex, nationality or religion.
The assessment has been made online, in two age categories: students under 14 and students over 14. One of the criteria for technical assessment is the number of concepts in the ECDL WebStarter programme that the websites contain.
The company’s employees and their children didn’t have the right to enter the competition.
