“ECO Summer!” Video Contest - „Click on green!” 2010
June 1 – August 31, 2010
I. ORGANIZER OF THE CONTEST
The “ECO Summer!” contest is organized by ECDL ROMANIA, with headquarters in Bucharest, 7-15 Mendeleev Street, mezzanine, sector 1, 010361, Romania, No. RC J40/2422/2002, Code RO14541553, Tel: +4021 316 9922; Fax: +4021 319 7227, e-mail: office@ecdl.org.ro, marketing@ecdl.org.ro .
The campaign’s aim is that students, who are only used to working in front of the computer, become responsible and to get involved in eco-actions. It gives everyone the chance to express a personal and responsible attitude towards the environment and at the same time to better understand the role that technology and computers play in providing information and in communicating in order to improve mentalities.
II. PERIOD OF TIME
The “ECO Summer!” contest will take place between the 1st of June and the 31st of August 2010, as part of the “Click on green!” campaign launched in 2009 by ECDL ROMANIA at a national level.
III. CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATING, DISQUALIFICATION
Students in schools and high schools in the entire country can take part in the contest regardless their sex, nationality or religion.
The organizer’s employees and their children do not have the right to take part in the contest.
ECDL ROMANIA considers that anyone who joins the contest implicitly accepts the rules and conditions and that their data are true and correct.
In case of any inconsistencies, ECDL ROMANIA will not take in consideration the respective entry as a valid one.
IV. HOW THE CONTEST TAKES PLACE
The “ECO Summer!” contest takes place at a national level in summer 2010, between the 1st of June and the 31st of August. It consists in creating videos on ecological topics.
The contest is open to school and high school students.
The topic of the contest is “ECO Summer! – How to protect the environment while on holiday”.
In our view, everyone should have a respectful attitude towards the environment in which we live and where the following generations will live as well. We are trying to induce children this ecological attitude in a very simple but efficient way: we make them put themselves in nature’s place. Being in the position of a natural element which was damaged by human action – therefore, being helpless in front of human action -, they can understand that they should grant everything around them the right to exist. Children will gradually get to see that any destructive action is extremely harmful to the environment because it destroys the natural balance of the world.
Children can join the contest between the 1st of June and the 31st of August 2010, by sending their contact data and their video on the aforementioned topic at marketing@ecdl.org.ro. The video can be sent directly at marketing@ecdl.org.ro or it can be uploaded through www.transfer.ro at the aforementioned e-mail address.
They can also participate in teams. One team can have 3 members at the most.
The evaluation of the videos will be made online.
Prizes for the web pages contest will consist in:
Ist prize - 3*photo camera, ECDL WebStarter Certificate voucher, diplomas and ECDL T-shirts
IInd prize – 3* wireless kit, ECDL WebStarter Certificate voucher, diplomas and ECDL T-shirts
IIIrd prize – 3* wireless kit, ECDL WebStarter Certificate voucher, diplomas and ECDL T-shirts
IVth prize – 3*web camera, ECDL WebStarter Certificate voucher, diplomas and ECDL T-shirts
Prizes V – X – memory stick,ECDL WebStarter Certificate voucher, diplomas and ECDL T-shirts
V. OBSERVATIONS
Participants in the “ECO Summer!” contest undertake to respect the rules and conditions of the contest.
In case of breach of these terms and conditions, the prize will not be awarded.
EDLD ROMANIA is responsible only for the awarding of the prize.
