ECDL ROMANIA, the General Scholar Inspectorate in Bucharest and Bucharest City Hall launched in 2008 the”5 High Schools 5 Museums” project, an educational program for students in high schools. Through this project, we wish to encourage the youth to take part in cultural activities by arranging visits to several museums in Bucharest and by starting a competition between students from 5 high schools in Bucharest.
The success of the project has made the third edition possible and it already foresees the fourth edition.
250 young people visited for free 5 museums in Bucharest. They were also challenged to an online general knowledge competition, in reference to the respective visits. They could join the contest by visiting the ECDL ROMANIA website (www.ecdl.org.ro), where they could fill in the questionnaires for the “5 High Schools 5 Museums” contest. The students who have tested their knowledge after visiting the museums will receive awards in the final conference of the program. The event will take place on the 26th of June, starting at 11 o’clock, at the National Village Museum in Bucharest.
The high schools involved in the third edition of the project are:
- “Miguel de Cervantes” Bilingual High School
- “Marin Preda” High School
- “Ion Barbu” Theoretical High School
- “Costin Nenitescu” Technical College
- “Gheorghe Lazar” National College
The museums involved in the project are:
- “Eng. Dumitru Minovici” Ancient Western Art
- The History Museum in Bucharest
- “Prof. Eng. Dimitrie Leonida” Technical Museum

Coordinating teachers and students from the high schools involved in the project, as well as representatives of the museums involved, will take part in the event on May 26. Representatives from the General Scholar Inspectorate in Bucharest and the Educational Directive of the Bucharest City Hall, together with the ECDL ROMANIA team, will be there as well.
Cheerfulness will be brought about by “Garofitele” (The pinks), a popular dance group, and by “Prieteni, Colegi, impreuna mereu” (Friends, Colleagues, together forever), a diversity group from School 135 “Stefan cel Mare” in Bucharest, together with Alexandru Patrascu, student at “Dimitrie Gusti” Industrial Scholar Group in Bucharest.
In the end, you will have the chance to listen to Cameral Kalev choir from Tallin, Estonia.
We’ll be waiting for you on Wednesday, the 26th of June 2010, starting at 11 o’clock at “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum in Bucharest.
