The expedition took place between the 14th and the 17th of June. Despite the weather, everything took place according to the initial schedule.
Thus, the following route was taken:
June 14:
Onesti Dambul Morii (by car) - rain
Route: Dambu Morii - Canion (and the waterfalls) 7 Stages - Piatra Mare Hut - Piatra Mare Peak - Tamina Canion (and waterfalls) - Timisul de Sus (over 20 km with a difference in height of + 1000 / - 1000)
Return by car at Dambul Morii (camping)
June 15: Dambul Morii - Sinaia – Sinaia Monastery - Cota 1400 (by car)
Route: Cota 1400 - Cota 2000 - Piatra Arsa Peak - Cota 2000 - Cota 1400 (over 13 km with +750 / -750)
Drive to Moroeni (camping)
June 16: Moroeni – Bolboci Lake – Ialomitei Cave - Cheile tatarului - Dichiu - Sinaia - Dambul Morii (camping - rain)
June 17: Dambul Morii - Onesti
The 7 Stages have become ECDL Stages, as they correspond to each other, according to the results from the ECDL Onesti test centre:
Stage 1: 13 steps - M3
Stage 2: 10 steps - M7
Stage 3: 35 steps - M6
Stage 4: 9 steps - M2
Stage 5: 11 steps - M5
Stage 6: 21 steps - M4
Stage 7: 16 steps - M1
The Mountain Tourism Club was grounded by the leaders of “Dimitrie Cantemir” National College, with the support of Sorin Ifrim, teacher and ECDL coordinator.
ECDL ROMANIA supports such initiatives which help the youth to become aware of the environment and to take part in educative activities outside the classroom.
